A bunch of night thoughts

11th. Aug, 2005 | 12:04 am
feeling: sleepy
listening to: Duran Duran blaring all day!

Hey, y'all, HAPPY DURAN DURAN APPRECIATION DAY! :D
I'm so gonna remember this date from now on, it's the same day as me Mum's b-day! :D
So, of course, I've been listening to DD all day, and I told everybody about this day. :P Yep, everybody's officially fed up of my DD obsession! :)

It's been a good day today. :)
I had to go downtown to run some errands and buy myself a pair of pants (trousers, if you're British! LOL). Thing is, since it was DD Appreciation Day, I said "Hmmm, I should get myself some kind of DD-related stuff!" :P I couldn't find a single DD CD to buy (I *HATE* this country), so I finally ended up in a library. You know what I got myself? A boom about Pop Art. Yep, Andy Warhol!
I have been kind of obsessed about Andy Warhol and Pop Art lately. Yep, that's lame of me, I know. :P But I can't help it. I guess Andy Warhol kind of defines one of the reasons I like Duran Duran - they're so different from me, but they still manage to affect me. I still feel they're talking to me, that their music is not completely unintelligible to me. I can even relate to that music. That's kind of odd.
So, Andy Warhol is kind of fascinating. Maybe because I still can't understand him. He painted soup cans, for Christ's sake. But still, I look at his 80 Two Dollar Bills and I can't help feeling the irony. The message is somehow clear and cryptic at the same time.

Changing subjects, I'm happy. :)
I've started dabbling with Flash. :P You might see some animations sometime soon, once I get to do something worth seeing. :P
I'm also back working on my fics. :) If you visit [info]lotsa_spurts, you'll find the prologue and the first chapter of A Love Like Music, a JT fic I'm currently working on. I like how it's turning out. :) I need to work some more, especially giving the characters the depth I want, but I do have faith on this fic. :) I'm sure it'll turn out fine. :)
I've also had the most depressing idea for a story some time ago. :P Well, it's sad, yes, but I also believe it's quite a love story. By the way, I'm not fond of happy endings... Just wanted to clear that out :)
Anyway, this new story involves a rather difficult subject - AIDS.
I'm doing research, and I'm becoming more and more interested about this disease.
I've found a really cool site that you might want to check out. :) This is it:

www.avert.org - averting HIV & AIDS worldwide

I'm building the whole plot for this story in my mind. If I can get it right, I think it'll turn out to be quite good. :) If I can get it right, of course. :)
