And, no, it's not Slim Shady! XDDDDDD
IT'S ME!!!
HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, WORLD!
I've been a bad BAD LJer and friend, because I actually came back to Rosario last Sunday, but I've been too lazy to post anything. XDDDD
I'm back full force now - back at work, back studying, back at pretty much everything. But that doesn't mean I'm back in reality, because I certainly ain't! This trip to Buenos Aires was one of the best things that ever happened to me, not only because I really managed to disconnect myself from my usual routine (we had no schedules, nothing was predetermined), but also because sharing nine days of my life with four awesome people like Rory, Ryo, Nadia and Catu has been a really changing experience. I can't believe how much I've learned apart from all that we enjoyed the time we spent together.
If things go well, I'll be back in Buenos Aires in March/April! We've ravaged lots of stores and bought as many Duran Duran things as possible, BUT I WANT MORE! XD SO BEWARE, BUENOS AIRES! XDDD
I'll try to catch up with your latest entries one step at a time, but I just wanted to say HI! WE'VE ALL BEEN MISSED!
Lots of love,
-V

feeling: optimistic
listening to: Duran Duran - The Reflex
...BECAUSE I'M SEEING DURAN DURAN LIVE IN MAR DEL PLATA IN TWO WEEKS AND I'M NOT PANICKING YET!
It kinda hit me last night, because as I was trying to fall asleep the radio aired "What Happens Tomorrow", a song I hadn't heard in AGES. And that's when I thought "WAIT, AT THIS TIME IN TWO WEEKS I'M GONNA BE HEARING THIS SONG LIVE!" WOOT!
Anyway, I guess I'm having a hard time actually realizing how big this is (all of you who know me from a way back know I had a time when I was a HUGE fan) mostly because my love for DD had come to a historic low. So it's not like I was expecting this concert or anything like it. I even had my doubts about going at first, but now I know it's gonna be such a great pick-up for me. Finally the whole Local Duranie group is gonna meet for this concert -
roryfitzgerald,
danysanders,
catunia and
nadiamdq - and that's enough of a reason to make this an UNFORGETTABLE weekend. :D
Oh, and by the way, we don't know anything for certain yet, but,
drbillbongo, we've heard MIRANDA! is gonna play in this concert too! :-O Will keep you posted! :D
Anyway, off to get the dust off my DD records and ROCK them once again! (I really need to relearn all the lyrics, mind you...)
CHEERIOS!

Dear
drbillbongo,

feeling: giggly
I was in German class today, and somebody complained about the conjugation of the verb mögen.
In Argentina, when something seems very difficult, we say:
¡Eso es chino básico!
And that's when my teacher said:
"Go with the German version! Das kommt mir Spanisch vor!"
I immediately thought of you, Bill.

feeling: hungry
listening to: Rammstein!
I used to have no culinary skills whatsoever. But I decided I might as well learn to cook, mainly because I need to keep myself from starvation if I ever want to live in an apartment on my own, right?
So, well, I bought a cookbook for total dumdums like me and, what's the first thing I prepared? Coffee cheesecake. XD Like THAT's something you eat every day. XD
Anyway, it proved useful. I made some cheesecake for my coworkers (after all, the best way to get to people is throught their stomachs, mind you) and brought it to the office last Monday, and it was an absolute success. They actually think I can cook. XD
The recipe is as easy as it gets, but it actually does taste awesome, if I may say so myself.
( Here's pictures to celebrate desserts! )
And now, enough pictures of food... Let's move on to something I love even more than cheesecake:
( My DANKE DEUTSCHLAND T-shirt! )
Well, enough for now!

Farewell to a very dear friend
24th. Jun, 2007 | 12:16 am
feeling: sad
Back a few years ago, I was an active part in the J.R.R. Tolkien fandom. I only wrote one fic (surprise, surprise), but I did read quite a lot. I'm still very fond of Tolkien's works. Of his many characters and stories, my favorite is Glorfindel and his battle against a Balrog on the fall of the beautiful city of Gondolin.
Thanks to this very blond Elf and the marvels of the Internet, I met Jessie Syring, a great fanfic writer from Montana, who was just as fond of Glorfindel as I am. She wrote great fanfiction, and her stories are still some of my favorites. I will never forget the long chats we've had, sharing plotbunnies and ideas, and sometimes simply gushing over our very blond Elf. :)
Unfortunately, I lost touch with her some time ago, and I was unfortunately lazy enough not to get in contact with her again. I tried writing her an email a month ago, but I got no response.
I googled her name today, because I suddenly remembered her, and I found the following on FanFictionWriters.com.
Jessica Lynn Syring, 40, died March 22nd 2007 at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota from an undetermined illness. She was preceded in death by her mother and her father, Patricia and Irvin Syring, and is survived by her brothers and sisters and their families: Carol Nash of Bridger, MT; Michel Taylor of St. Paul, MN; Denise Wheeler of Helena, MT; Stephanie Syring of Ormond Beach, Florida; Andrew Syring of Cody, WY and Jon Syring of Sheridan, WY. Jessie was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and moved to Montana when she was 5. She attended Wolf Creek Elementary School, Hawthorne Elementary School, CRA and Capitol High School. She received a degree in Anthropology from the University of Montana. Jessie loved Montana and considered it her home. She knew the location of every ghost town in Montana and on weekends she could be found exploring them. She collected Breyer horses since childhood and had an extensive collection. Jessie was very involved in model horse shows, where her displays and creations won many awards. She was a prolific reader and writer and enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons. She was a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. Jessie’s cats, Lynx and Taymet, provided her with many hours of entertainment and she volunteered at the Lewis and Clark Humane Society. Jessie was a 30 year cancer survivor. She was a positive, outgoing person and had many friends and acquaintances. She especially enjoyed her co-workers at the State and at Waldenbooks, where she worked part time. Jessie’s absence will be felt by many.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Jessie’s life will be held on April 15th 2007 from 1:00 -3:00 pm at 720 Laurel St. in Helena. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewis and Clark Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
With Jessie's passing we are collecting any fiction that she wrote and posting it to this list. Please use the contact addy here if you have some to add. I will be forwarding any comments to her family. Thank you. Jennye
You wouldn't believe just how much this touched me. I did not know anything about her illness, but she was indeed a very positive person, and I really wish I could have shared more time with her. We even talked about me visiting her in Montana one day. I wish I could have done it.
I will certainly remember you, Jessie, and I'm sorry indeed. I trust you're happy now, and, who knows? Maybe Heaven looks a lot like Gondolin, and you're actually in the great company of Elves. :)
Goodbye, and may you rest in peace, Jess. You're missed already.

Apologies
22nd. May, 2007 | 11:08 pm
feeling: distressed
My usual email answering rhythm is slowing down a bit right now, and I apologize for that.
I owe you all many answers, and I usually take time to try to catch up on my email, but this week is turning out to be CHAOS for me, so things are getting a little rough right now. Lots of shit at work, plus lots of studying, so my mind is drifting far away right now.
Don't worry, I'll try so sort out my shit in the couple of days so I can be back full force.
drbillbongo: in the next two days I'll be answering your comments regarding
nach_spielzeit - count me in for everything, because I'm really looking forward to participate, and to the beginning of our activities. :D
Keep me in your minds, peeps - I'm really going nuts right now and I need good vibes.
I'll be back.
Cheers,
-V

1. If you could choose anyone from your flist, who would you date? (I couldn't resist. ;) But be honest!)
I'm being totally honest - it would be either
2. You're in an empty room together with Timo Hildebrand. What would you do?
We'd talk and talk and talk and talk and talk. There are lots of things I'd love to know about him. And, then, once we're in confidence, I'd jump on him and hump him. XD I'D GIVE HIM THE FUCK OF HIS LIFE. XD
3. If you could ask just one question, who would you ask and what would the question be?
God (or whatever deity is out there): What is the final Truth behind everything?
4. What is your favourite dish?
Cheeseburguers. :D
5. If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be?
Chasing men in Sweden. XD Or looking after Timo! He's got bronchitis, awww!
That was it! :D If anybody would me to interview you, and I haven't done it yet, here's the original post. :D
Cheerios!

You already know I'm gonna start learning German on March 20. :D
You already know I'm excited. :D
You don't know I've already bought a notebook. (Well, now you know it.)
My notebook right now looks like this:
( I like the color... )
It's a nice color, but it wil eventually turn out to be BORING.
SO
This is where you come in. :D
I'm asking all of you (and I really mean ALL, it doesn't matter if you speak German or not, it doesn't matter if you're in Germany or not, all that matters is that you're reading this) to send me SOMETHING I can print and glue to the covers of my notebook. :D
It doesn't matter what it is - a picture, a quote, a sign, a photo, anything.
It doesn't matter what it's about - you, the place where you live, your favorite things, my favorite things, anything.
The only thing that matters is this:
IT SHOULD REMIND ME OF YOU. :D So everytime I see my German notebook, I'll remember each and everyone of you backing me up in all my plans/dreams/weirdities! :)
So, please, make me happy and post your things here or send them directly to zanguangomurrayATciudadDOTcomDOTar. :D I've already bought a roll of contact paper to protect all things you might send once they're printed and glued. :D I'll post a new picture of my Notebook Reloaded once it's done! :D
THANK YOU ALL IN ADVANCE! :D
