Well, just in case you wanna know, my name is Verónica (although many friends call me Velas, Vero, Sholanda, Shola, Sholandia or Sholinos), I was born in 1985 and I live in Argentina (although I plan to leave this country someday). I'm a college student, studying Music, working to pursue a degree in Piano Performance. :) You may thus deduce that I love music very much, which is true. My musical taste is as eclectic as it gets. I'm a crazed fan of Duran Duran, and I also keep Sigur Rós and Editors at the very top of my list of favs, but, to name a few, I also listen to KoRn, The Prodigy, Dave Matthews Band, David Bowie, Coldplay, Solar Stone, Chicane, Fischerspooner, R.E.M., Radiohead, The Cure, Rammstein, Franz Ferdinand... I love "academic" music too, mainly contemporary composers like Arvo Pärt and Philip Glass, and movie scores.
I have an interest in visual arts as well, especially in art history, Andy Warhol being the most fascinating artist I've ever seen. I also love Philosophy, traveling and languages (I only speak English and Spanish for now, but I'm giving German a go this year!). Oh, and I love writing too. :) I'm the biggest procrastinator (and perfectionist) ever, but I'm working on a couple of ideas for some novels. :)
I'm constantly learning. Learn is the word that defines me. I'm an observer, a thinker, a critic (or at least that's what I'm trying to become :P). Hopefully someday I'll become a teacher and travel around the world. :)
This is just a side of me, though. Don't be fooled by my apparent seriousness. :) I'm also a big fangirl. My main fandom is the German National Soccer Team. I love soccer, I love fangirling and I also love players like Timo Hildebrand, Mike Hanke and Mario Gomez, among many others!
This is just an intro, of course, and there's a lot more to be said...
But that's what this LJ is for - to speak out my mind!
